Dubai Fishing Seasons

Dubai’s prime fishing season runs from November through April, offering excellent conditions for most species. During these cooler months, fish are more active and accessible, especially in early mornings. According to seasonal data:

  • Snapper, Catfish, and Kingfish are in their peak season, available in abundance and easily caught.

  • Cobia and Grouper also show strong activity, particularly from January to April.

  • Barracuda and Queenfish are highly active in winter and early spring, making them ideal targets for deep sea fishing.

With calm seas, mild weather, and high fish movement, this period is perfect for both beginners and professional anglers. Most morning fishing trips in Dubai are fully booked during this season, so early reservations are recommended.

While summer in Dubai can be hot, fishing remains very much alive — especially during early mornings or just before sunset. The sea remains rich in marine life, although some species show reduced activity.

  • Snapper and Catfish maintain excellent availability year-round, making them reliable summer targets.

  • Kingfish and Cobia are less active between June and September, but they start returning in October.

  • Grouper and Barracuda activity drops in mid-summer but rises again by September.

  • Queenfish fishing is fair during summer, with occasional peak in September.

Although the overall catch volume may slightly decrease compared to winter, summer fishing trips in Dubai offer quieter marinas, cheaper rates, and the opportunity to enjoy beautiful sunsets over the Gulf. For serious anglers, this is still a rewarding time — especially when guided by experienced local crews.
